The first appointment will consist of a consultation so we both can decide the right treatment plan for your goals. Massage therapies have a local and systemic effect on the body and certain medical conditions may be contraindicated.
During the assessment process, please provide any health conditions and the medications you are taking so I can adjust the treatment accordingly. At the end of the session, I may also provide self care ideas to help manage a condition or to improve on your body mechanics.
I practice a variety of Massage Modalities. Including: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Pregnancy, and Medical Massage. If you are unsure what style massage you are looking for, I would be happy to explain the differences and make recommendations to achieve the best results for your goals. A series of treatments may be needed to improve some conditions and monthly treatments may be suitable for regular maintenance. Everyone heals and responds to massage differently and having a two way communication with your therapist is very important to achieve results and for your safety. Client confidentiality is strictly enforced unless the client consents to share information with a third party.
Swedish Massage – Long rhythmic relaxing strokes loosen muscle fibers and increases flexibility. This has a systemic affect on circulation, decreasing muscle toxins, and increasing oxygen levels in the blood. It also promotes lymphatic drainage and brings back fresh new lymph to strengthen your immune system and speeds up the healing process. This technique promotes relaxation to relieve stress and better sleep.
Deep Tissue Massage – After warming up muscles, deeper massage stokes are able to release muscle tension, restrictions, and trigger points. Muscles are reset to ease pain, release toxins, break up scar tissue, and increase range of motion.
Medical Massage – Various massage techniques can be used to help reduce pain and symptoms from acute or chronic conditions. Some of these conditions that can benefit from massage include: Carpal Tunnel, Tendonitis, Whiplash, Tennis/Golfers elbow, strains/sprains, gamers thumb, headaches, lower back pain, upper back pain, sciatica, and plantar fasciitis.
Hot Stone Massage – Smooth basalt stones of different shapes and sizes are heated and applied to sore tight muscles. This aids to release muscular restrictions quicker than modalities without heat. Hot stones also promote relaxation throughout the body to relieve stress.
